Gel cartridges
are perfectly safe. They are non-toxic and do not produce any creosote,
the way burning wood does. They also do not spark and produce no
popping embers. Instead, you get a steady, mellow, golden fire.
And, because the log surrounds and protects the cartridge it can't
tip over, like an exposed round can. That is why a Certified Safety
Professional, Ernest A. Niles, concluded cartridges were a "major
safety advance" over round cans that sit on an exposed shelf.
In addition, gel cartridges have been tested pursuant to American
National Standard Z21.11 and were found to produce practically no
CO emissions. Whereas the standard allows up to 250 ppm (parts per
million) our cartridge produced only 16!
